Conservadox Grinds My Gears
June 3, 2008 at 3:10 pm | In jewish denominations, orthodox | 2 CommentsYou know what really grinds my gear? The term Conservadox. Is there anyone out there who uses this term to describe themselves? Or is it just a derogatory term pinned on the not-frum-enough by the frumer-than-thou club?

It depends. Some Conservatives who see their rabbinate as having marked down halacha to mere guidelines take it as a positive name to signify their more Orthodox bent. Others not so much. Sometimes it is used by UO to pin sub-MO people who stray towards Conservativeville.
No real way of telling.
